At least five soldiers died and six were injured in fighting around the Hawari cement factory in Benghazi. The casualties were caused by mines as troops sought to enter the plant. It was reported that at least 20 Islamic State fighters were killed in a fuel tank explosion during the fighting, though a source added that it was hard to give a precise figure for enemy casualties since IS and Anar al-Sharia fighters always tried to recover the bodies of their dead. |
