Around 500 motorcycle drivers protested on the main road of Niania, in the Isrio-Mambasa territory, over alleged demands of bribes by the Road Traffic Police (PCR). Police opened fire on the demonstrators, killing at least 4, including a student. The angry crowd then burned down houses surrounding the police station before the army arrived to disperse them. The PCR and Congolese Natonal Police commander was arrested by the military. |

Police fired tear gas to disperse as many as several thousands supporters of Moses Katumbi outside the Lubumbashi courthouse. Police also allegedly "chased with batons dozens of lawyers" who had arrived to defend Katumbi and all others being investigated in connection to disturbances in Lubumbashi for free. Several people were arrested and transferred to Kinshasa. No injuries were reported. |
