Police fired tear gas and live bullets at crowds protesters that gathered in the streets of Kinshasa. Tyres were set on fire, and the crowd threw stones at police. Between 19th and 21st January 2015, Human Rights Watch report that 36 people were killed in these protests in Kinshasa. The government denies this, estimating 27 killed in total, including 4 in Goma. |
