In Dhoobley area a new round of fighting was also reported. On the 20th April anti-AS troops attacked AS positions in Jirma area (between Dif and Afmadow). Anti-AS forces claim victory over AS and captured the Commander of AS Lower Jubba force Mohamud Takhal who was reported to have been injured during the battle. Takhal alongside a number of his men were arrested and transported to Garissa (Kenya). Capturing of Takhal means that AS have lost the second commander of its forces in Jubba in 3 weeks. On 3rd April Ana Gel the previous commander of AS Lower Jubba forces was killed in Dhoobley. (Unclear if territory was taken over) |
