The fighting erupted when the Abgaal soldiers attacked the Murusade group who were manning a checkpoint in Mukayga area within Afgooye town. The fighting went on for about two hours after which the Abgaal soldiers took over the control of the checkpoint. The motive is believed to be related to money extorted from motorists. At least eight people, most of them civilians, were killed and more than eight others were injured in the clash. |
