More than hundreds of people mostly, drivers and conductors of commuter buses staged a peaceful demonstration in western part of Burco against the city mayor and the local councillors on 01/07. The protestors were complaining against a directive issued by the local municipal council allowing tricycles (Tuktuk) to play same routes as of the public buses. The drivers reportedly blocked the roads with their buses. Police arrived at the scene and arrested a number of protesters. |
