Passengers were abducted on the night of Saturday 15 March into Sunday morning; and their driver relieved of his vehicle in a false roadblock attributed to the GDSPC. Throughout the entire night, the sequestered people were treated to a religious sermon on the part of the militants, who stated to them that they were affiliated with the group led by the "emir" of the Salafi Group for Call and Combat GSPC. The roadblock was thrown up at an intersection of a remote road linking the bordering municipalities of Taourirt-Ighil, El-Kseur, and Toudja. |
