Military convoys pass over the border bridges of Ruzizi One and Two of at least 10 military trucks each day, carrying soldiers of the regular army of Kigali, arriving from nearby Rwanda towards the eastern region of Kivu: Military convoys which on arrival in the city of Bukavu divided on two routes: northwest in the direction of Bunyakiri (80 km from Bukavu) and southwest in direction of Walungu (40 km from Bukavu). The convoys have been being attacked regularly by Kabila's government troops and Mai-Mai forces- no confirmations on death tolls, although they are believed to be very high. |
