Four political prisoners held in the Tura Reception facility have begun a hunger strike in protest over conditions in the prison and poor treatment at the hands of guards, according to prisoners' families.all four prisoners had been placed under 23 hour lockdown in one cell located within the facility's al-Dawai prison block. Units in this block are 2 square metres in size, and have no ventilation or access to water.Inmates also experienced verbal abuse at the hands of police and guards, according to Alam. |
