An unknown number of armed men carried out an armed attack against the Central AP camp in Mandera in the night of 13-14/03. Employing multiple vectors, they first lobbed two hand grenades into the camp and subsequently fired against the police for a few minutes before departing the scene. One Police reservist was killed and another wounded in the aftermath of the attack. The KPRs were reportedly having a small break after long hours of patrolling around that area. The perpetrators reportedly crossed over to the Somali side of the border after the attack. |
