Between 10 and 15 suspected al Shabaab assailants attack Witu. A witness said that the attackers shot their victims first, made sure they bled, before tying them up and making them lie on the ground facing down. They then proceeded to hack them. The attackers are said to have vowed that they were not going to leave until they eliminate all non-believers from the area. At least 11 dead. The attack may have occurred in Maleli. As a result of the attacks, many of the residents have fled the area. |
