Description |
Al Shabaab attacks several locations of Lamu Island and were able to briefly overtake the area known as "Mangai," an area they found with little resistance. Other places attacked included a school and a military camp. Military forces eventually repelled the attackers. "Several" casualties reported, eleven of which were recorded as al Shabaab. Later reports suggest a British-born member of al Shabaab (known as Thomas Evans or Abdul Akim) may have been a leader in the attack and is among the dead. Another suspect of the attack was apprehended on 20/06. |
