The Libyan army has announced the start of a new air force operation called "doom", to target storages and headquarters of Islamic State (IS, also known as ISIS/ISIL) leadership and other militant groups in Benghazi. The source said the operation was launched on 19 September and that warplanes and helicopters were conductingraidsin Benghazi. There were heavy air strikes in Benghazis Leithi, Gwarsha and Sabri districts following the announcement of the new military operation against the Islamic State and other militant groups in the city. |
