A top official of Nasarawa State, along with several others, is killed during her visit to the polling booth in Kikyo, Toto LGA. The perpatrator is of the Igbarra ethnic group and the victim of Gwari. Many Igbarra believed the offical had been sent by the Governor to rig the election in their favour. Following the killing, there were further clashes in Toto and nearby Doma government council - many residents of the area were displaced, causing the military to enter the area and restore order. The of injured and dead from the clashes that followed are not known. |
