A suicide bomber rammed an SUV loaded with explosives into a Catholic church holding Mass on Sunday in northern Nigeria, killing at eight fifteen people and wounding 145 others. Some witnesses said the death toll could be as high as 12. They said the dead included children. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Christian youths retaliated against a group of Muslims following the blast, believing Boko Haram, or another Islamic group responsible. The death toll grew as the day wore on. |
