Fourteen, including a teenage girl were reportedly killed in a communal clash between the Jukuns and Hausas in Jalingo of Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba State. Also, no fewer than 40 houses, vehicles and other properties worth millions of naira were destroyed in the bloody clash which erupted at about 4.30a.m. but was later brought under control by a combined team of soldiers and police that were drafted to the area to maintain peace. The clash may have stemmed from a robbery that had been seen a ethnically based earlier in the week. |
