Business and commercial activities were disrupted in parts of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital following clashes between supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ahead of the planned visit of Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to Rumueprikom community in Obio/Akpor local government area of the state. The clashes were said to have started at the popular Wimpey Junction along Ikwerre Road in Port Harcourt, and later spread to Rumueme, also in Obio/Akpor local government area, and Diobu, in Port Harcourt City local government area. Several injuries reported. |
