Following an assault on Michika by Boko Haram, military forces launch a campaign to liberate the city, which included an air assault. During the battle, one known causality of note was the son of a former politician, all totalling 24. Boko Haram causalities not known - the fighting was reported as "fierce." As a result of the attack, the army has moved sensitive weapons from Mubi. Despite an early report the military had retaken the city, it was later learned Boko Haram maintained control of the area. |
