Neighbouring Benin forces invade 16 communities in Baruten LGA, raising the Benin flag in the effected area. No violence reported. Many civilians fled the area. The areas effected include: Okuta, Ogomne, Bwin, Gandasunon, Kpuru, Woru Wuren Kparu, Ajuba1, Ajuba 2, Saka Yeruman Kparu, Monta, Dotin Kparu, Halidun Kparu, Yakubun Kparu, Sonsi, Gunosani, Alhaji Kparu, Yodo Mankparu and Simen Kparu. The area in question was demarcated among Britain and France in 1914. The response from the Nigerian government is not clear, and the extent of Benin control is a questionable. Date(s) not clear. |
