Somaliland, Las Anood, 30/05/2010: Somaliland and Puntland administrations met at Tokaraq in Sool region where they agreed to attack Dhulbahante militia based at Buuro Wadal. Dhulbahante traditional leaders have repeatedly accused the Government of Puntland of failing to repossess Sool Sanaag and Cayn (SSC) regions from Somaliland hence leading to establishment of SSC militias composed mainly of Dhulbahante militias. Dhulbahante elders concluded in their latest meeting in Buuro waddal that they would create an autonomous state in the region This did not auger well to the Governments of Puntland and Somaliland who do not want an independent authority in the region. Puntland on the other hand cannot attack the tribal militia fearing a backlash from clan elders and elites in the government and would like the Government of Somaliland to deal with them. |
