AS attacked TFG/AMISOM positions captured in the last week's offensive. Fighting started in the morning hours by sporadic shooting and shelling and intensified in the evening after AS reinforced its positions in the contested areas. Most of the mortars fired by TFG/AMISOM were reported to have been targeting Bakara Market. At least 5 civilians died as a result of the fighting inside Bakara Market and 2 others at Dayniile Hospital where they got transported after sustaining injuries in the area. At least 30 other civilians were injured inside Bakara Market. |
