A group of Naleye Ahmed gunmen attacked a carpentry workshop owned by a Habr Yoonis/Muse Ismail clansman in revenge for the killing of a police commander earlier in the day. One person was seriously injured in the attack. Shooting broke out in several other locations in the city following the attack and the Somaliland Army had to be deployed to contain the escalating conflict. Curfew was imposed on the town following the shooting. The situation remains tense and further clashes between the two sub-clans cannot be ruled out. |
