ENDF forces assisted by anti-AS militias mostly composed of ex-TFG militias from Bay and Bakool took over Baidoa from AS in the end of the afternoon of 22/02. Almost no AS resistance was reported.The former TFG Governor of Bay Region Abdifatah Maxamed Ibrahim "Geesey" took control of the regional administration buildings while ENDF troops established a base in Bakiin hotel to the NE of Baidoa. The former governor ordered local businessmen to re-open their shops, threatening that any person not complying with the order would be considered as pro-AS. |
