AS fighters launched an attack against Dhusamareeb and took over control of the town after a brief clash with ASWJ fighters in the morning of 20/03. AS fighters attacked the town from the eastern side and reportedly seized two battlewagons from ASWJ. ASWJ reinforcements from Guri Ceel, Xerale and Cabud Waaq were however quickly mobilized and ASWJ militias launched a counter-attack in the morning and afternoon. Heavy clashes were reported between the two sides, particularly in the vicinity of the airport. The town was re-taken by ASWJ by mid-afternoon. Heavy casualties were reported on the two sides. |
