An unspecified number of AS fighters alongside one senior AS commander reportedly arrived in Budbud (93km N of Hobyo) from Xarar-Dhere and were welcomed by residents from the Nimacle sub-clan of Sa'ad. Clan militias from Galkacyo were reportedly dispatched to the area alongside Sa'ad elders from Galkacyo the following day with instructions to ask the AS to leave the area. It is reported that the AS commander informed the elders that his group had no intention to operate in the area and asked for free passage towards Puntland and the Galgala area. |
