A suicide bomber detonates a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device near a police station at 9:30a. Intense shooting followed after the attack and extended up to 10:30. The area was sealed by Puntland security officers and all shops in the vicinity were closed. The attack wounded the deputy police commissioner of Somalia's Puntland region and at least 13 other people, including soldiers and civilians. Five people; the suicide bomber and four civilians were killed in the blast. Al Shabaab later claimed responsibility. |
