Pro-opposition supporters staged a demonstration in the area between Juba Hotel and SBC Radio station in Bosasso in the morning of 10/05. The demonstrators were opposed to the planned local council elections to be held in Puntland. The protestors were reportedly carrying placards with slogans expressing that the forthcoming elections would not be free and fair. The protestors erected road-blocks on the main road. Police fired in the air to disperse the protestors. Reports indicate that a number of demonstrators were arrested. |
