An armed man reportedly opened fire at an INGO-rented vehicle close to Arta (110km S of Bosasso) on 24/08. The vehicle was transporting an INGO national staff, an employee of the Puntland Minister of Education and a temporary-contracted engineer. All three passengers were slightly injured and transferred to Qardho Hospital for treatment. The motive of the attack is unascertained. The perpetrator was reportedly from the Majeerten/Ali Saleeban sub-clan. Darawiish and police were deployed to the area and arrested the perpetrator. |
