Gunmen from the Ayr/Yabar Dhowrakace sub-clan reportedly opened indiscriminate fire at a group of ASWJ soldiers and civilians sitting in front of Bar Dhegacade restaurant in Dhusamareeb in the evening of 31/08. The attack was reportedly in revenge to a killing of a member of the Yabar Dhowrakace sub-clan by ASWJ/Sufa militiamen implementing a ban on charcoal production. The ASWJ police commander (Ayr/Yabar Dhowrakece) who was sitting in the restaurant was killed. Another ASWJ/Sufa militiamen was killed and three other civilians injured. The perpetrators managed to escape. ASWJ authorities imposed a night curfew in the town after the incident. |
