| Description | Al Shabaab fighters launched an attack against AMISOM/Somali forces based in Yaaq Biri Weyne (22 km W of Wanla Wayne) in the evening of 25/09. The two sides exchanged heavy gunfire including RPGs for about one hour after which al Shabaab withdrew. Casualties from the warring sides could not be established. Reports indicate that AMISOM/Somali forces conducted a security operation in the area prior to the attack and arrested two persons they suspected of being al Shabaab operatives. |
