Al Shabaab fighters conducted a hit and run attack against a Somali soldiers' base in Mahadaay Village (Jowhar Distirct) in the night of 02/10. The two sides exchanged gunfire for about an hour after which the attackers withdrew. At least one soldier and a young boy were confirmed killed in the clash but the casualties are believed to be more than that although the exact figures could not be established. Reports indicate that AS fighters had been regrouping in the outskirts of Biyo-Cade Village in an attempt to recapture Mahadaay. |
