Sa'ad militiamen armed with at least five battle wagons attacked Puntland Darawish forces based in Godod Village (28 E of Galkacyo) on 01/11. The motive of the attack is currently unclear. Reports indicate that five militiamen Sa'ad militiamen were killed and a number of others, including a Puntland soldier were injured. Puntland forces also seized a battle wagon from the Sa'ad militia. The fighting caused tension in Galkacyo. Reports indicate that Sa'ad militias in Galkacyo are mobilizing themselves for another attack against Puntland forces. Puntland government accused the SNG of being behind the attack. Puntland intelligence claimed that SNG had recently delivered arms to Sa'ad militia in Bandiiradley. |
