Two groups of Somali forces clashed in Siinka Dheer (Afgooye District) in the morning of 10/11. The fighting started after the District Commissioner of Lafoole imposed taxes on lorries going to Mogadishu and allowed his militias to erect roadblocks on the Afgooye-Mogadishu road. In reaction Somali forces based in Ceelasha Biyaaha - also manning illegal roadblocks in the area - attacked the District Commissioner's militias. Reports indicate that the fighting lasted for about five minutes after which the DC's militiamen were defeated. No casualties were reported. |
