Fighting between Somali forces and Biyo Maal militias resumed in K50 Village (Afgooye District) in the morning of 18/11. Reports indicate that the fresh fighting was started by government forces in an operation aimed to drive militias from the village and the surrounding areas. Security managed to drive out the militias from the village. MPs and traditional leaders from Biyo Maal clash condemned the Somali military for reportedly killing and terrorizing innocent civilians. Casualties from both sides could not be established. |
