Two militia groups led by two governing leaders of Khatumo (Ahmed Karash and Mohamud Indho Sheel) clashed in the vicinity of God Qaboobe (53km E of Laas Caanood) in the morning of 27/11 following disagreements over who to lead the second phase of Khatumo III conference. The two sides clashed after a militia group led by Indho Sheel reportedly heading to Taleex to organize the general assembly meeting of Khatumo, was blocked by another group led by Ahmed Karash. Indho Sheel group later proceeded to Taleex after the brief clash and the withdrawal of Karash group. The Khatumo's deputy minister of interior, who was part of Indho Sheel convoy, was injured in the clash. Indho Sheel reportedly accused Puntland of backing his rival. |
