Jubaland forces hailing from Ogaden clan conducted security operations in Calanley neighbourhood (Kismaayo) in the evening of 12/12 following the killing of a security officer (an Ogaden). The security forces searched houses in the neighbourhood and Qiilmawaye Hotel, where Majeerten militias are based. Reports indicate that the security forces assaulted youths and arrested others. A soldier from Majerteen clan was shot and killed and his colleague injured after they refused to surrender. |
