A group of civilians staged a demonstration in front the local municipal council in Odweyne where a delegation led by the minister in the office of the president was holding a meeting in the morning of 02/01. The demonstration was sparked by an attempted arrest to a local councillor in the orders of the minister in the office of the president after the councillor requested to address the locals during the meeting. RRU (Rapid Response Unit) police escorting the minister opened fire at the demonstrators, injuring five people. |
