A security guards for a local NGO open fire to crowd of women and children in the centre of Kismaayo in the morning of 04/01. Reports indicate that one child was reportedly killed and a woman was injured. Further reports indicate that large numbers of IPDs mainly women and children gathered in front of the NGO office demanding cash vouchers and the security guards open fire to disperse the crowd. The local NGO was implementing cash distribution project and the IDPs accused it of giving the vouchers to their relatives and friends instead of the target beneficiaries |
