Hundreds of demonstrators marched from 15-May School to the Wardhiigley District administration office in the morning of 25/01 to express their anger against al Shabaab claims of having held meetings with elders from the Habr-Gedir clan in Buulo Mareer on 18 and 24 January. Several MPs, DCs and local officials from the Banadir regional administration joined the protest. The demonstrators stressed that clans from South-Central Somalia should not support the al Shabaab movement. The anti-al Shabaab rally ended peacefully. |
