An unidentified attacker dressed in military uniform shot and killed an elderly man hailing from the Leelkase clan in Waberi neighbourhood in Garowe in the evening of 27/01. Reports indicate that the victim was attacked while coming back home from evening prayers. Unconfirmed initial reports suggest that the killing is a case of clan revenge related to a previous killing in Garowe a year ago. However, Puntland authorities blamed the killing on Al-Shabab despite no group claiming responsibility for the slaying of the clan elder. The perpetrator escaped from the scene. |
