| Description | Al Shabaab fighters ambushed a group of militiamen loyal to Barre Hirale in Goob Weyn Village (14km NE of Kismaayo) on 26/02. The attack followed after the militiamen tried to defect to Jubaland administration in Kismaayo. A number of them were injured and some arrested but reports indicate a few managed to escape to Kismaayo. The defection reportedly followed after Barre Hiraale arrived in the village with their salaries but paid the money for the cost incurred by the militiamen. |
