Al Shabaab fighters attacked Somali forces in Mubaarak Village (30 NE of Qoryooley) in the evening of 26/02. The two sides exchanged gunfire for a few minutes after which the al Shabaab took over control of the village. One government soldier was reportedly killed and three others injured. Al Shabaab casualties could not be established. After the take-over, al Shabaab fighters preached the locals and withdrew after few hours. Somali forces re-took the village in the night without any fight. |
