Somali government forces and local militias manning a checkpoint clashed in Tixsiile Village (22km NW of Afgooye) in the night of 04/03. The attack was initiated by the government forces with an intention to remove the illegal checkpoint from the area but the militias resisted, forcing the government forces to withdraw. Reports indicate that the checkpoint is manned by militiamen loyal to former District Commissioner of Cabdulcasiis District (in Mogadishu). Casualties could not be established. |
