| Description | Al Shabaab fighters ambushed an AMISOM (Sierra Leone) convoy at Hawindha Village (94km SW of Afmadow) on the road between Dhoobley and Tabta villages (Afmadow District) in the morning of 16/03. The two sides exchanged small arms fire and RPG rounds. An AMISOM truck was destroyed after it was hit by a RPG round. The convoy was heading to Dhoobley on the Kenya-Somali border when the ambush took place. Casualties on both sides could not be established. |
