Al Shabaab fighters have carried out an ambush against AMISOM/SNG convoy escorting the SNG Prime Minister near Kali-Caafimaad (20km NE of Marka) in the afternoon of 08/05. Reports indicate that the Prime Minister was on his way to Mogadishu after paying a two days visit to Marka and Qoryooley towns in Lower Shabelle region when the incident happened. No casualties were reported. A similar attack occurred the previous day. It is not clear if the intended target was military or civilian. |
