Several Leysaan militias and SNG soldiers have reportedly shot and killed four al Shabaab fighters and confiscated their AK47 rifles in the vicinity of Xawaal Bar-Baar (13kms NE of Dinsoor) in the afternoon of 25/07. The four al Shabaab operatives seemed to be looking for the dead body of a man believed to be a well known al Shabaab official and apparently killed in previous Toos Weyne attacks. They were also allegedly searching for a machine gun which was left behind by al Shabaab fighters who have been defeated in the Toos Weyne attack. The soldiers, who had received a tip off regarding the al Shabaab presence in the area, followed them, opened fire and killed four al Shabaab operatives on the spot. |
