The two sides engaged in a gun-battle that lasted for about an hour after which the al Shabaab fighters withdrew. Eleven al Shabaab fighters and two SNG soldiers were reportedly killed and a number of combatants injured. The convoy had left Bulo Mareer and was heading to Baraawe when the ambush took place. |
