Al Shabaab fighters carried out a surprise attack against SNG and Ethiopian soldiers in Geedweyne village (28km NW of Doolow) in the afternoon of 26/10. Reports indicate that the al Shabaab fighters managed to take-over the village from SNG. Further reports indicate that the al Shabaab fighters killed a prisoner held by SNG soldiers and also taken a car belonging to Nation Link Company. Five SNG soldiers were killed and four others were injured. Casualties from al Shabaab side could not be established. |
