Heavily armed SNAF and NISA personnel launched a road clearing operation on the roads that link Afgooye-Wanla Weyne road to Afgooye-Marka road targeting militias in SNG uniforms manning the illegal checkpoints along those roads on 08/11. An armed clash between the SNG forces and a group of militia which erected a road-block in Laantabuur (12km SW of Afgooye) was reported during the operation. Twenty men were arrested from different parts of the region and two vehicles were recovered by the SNG forces. Three militias were also killed. |
