A large number of people took to the streets of Baidoa in the morning of 17/11 in protest against the planned election of SW3 president. The protesters, mostly supporters of SW6, burnt tires in front of the main police station, the general hospital and Afar Irdoodka Junction. The demonstration comes at a time delegates attending the SW3 conference are preparing to elect the president of Southwest Somali state. A teenage boy was killed and two others injured after SW3 militia reportedly opened fire at the demonstrators. |
